The Big Ten: Bold Is The Word

Come boldly. In 2019, come boldly to the throne of grace. Those words came bursting forth to me on the very first day of the new year!! Found in Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”  In the message version it says  “in confidence.” The icing on the cake. I have prayed that verse the past three days. Because coming boldly to the throne of grace is just that to me…boldly praying to my Heavenly Father, with confidence that He is God, He is Sovereign and His word is the only truth.

The prayers are about what God can and will do, he just calls me to come. Boldly not hesitantly, sheepishly, unbelieving  or doubting. Boldly asking to heal and deliver. Letting go of control at all costs. Allowing Him my open, honest heart. Crushing the powers of the darkness and weapons formed they are under the authority and blood of Jesus.

Mercy and Grace

The promise of God is this…obtain mercy and find grace in the time of need.  Mercy and Grace. In this world where the needs are great, there we get mercy and find grace. I found this grace so profoundly ten years ago, immediately when I had a stirring in my heart that the lump I had found in my breast was something more than a cyst. For me, there was no where else to go but to the throne of grace, through my words..on my knees, to the floor ,on my face..then back up.. lifting my hands…singing praise, saying praise..praying in the time of need. And in those private encounters with God there was a peace I will never be able to explain to this day except His grace and mercy and LOVE for me.

Since that time I have repeated that pattern of prayer through many situations and seen God move mountains every.single. time! Maybe not in my timing, not in my way, but His ways are always better.  I also experienced a new boldness in proclaiming Christ unashamedly and pray I have somehow maintained much of that. It’s a choice every day, I choose Him first. He is first. Then I am able to be who and what I need to be. I may get it wrong more than right, but Jesus gives me mercy and grace. So I come boldly. In 2019, I come boldly to the throne of grace. Every day.  Simply said..”prayer is powerful because we have a powerful God.” Pray without ceasing.

The definition of bold is “fearless  and daring; courageous.” Fearless. For me that means Fear Less. Take Risks. Be Courageous. In the Confidence of Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

My 2019 word is BOLD! What’s yours?
