Before we rang in the new year, the kids and I were talking about being grateful for what we had and trying to come up with a phrase that would remind us to be thankful for all God has given us. Finally we came up with simply, live thankful.
A few days later on the way to school, Luke started complaining about an ache in his leg and I quickly jumped in with, an ache in something when I felt to try and change the atmosphere. ” Let’s just say we are thankful about everything that is bugging us today and see if our attitude gets better?” About the time I said it, the car next to me verred over in my lane ..”Whhhaaat….oh, I am so thankful I can share my lane with you right now, ” and they all bust out laughing! Uh huh, it worked.
I notice such a difference in my day when I am in an attitude of thankfulness. And I actually notice a difference in the attitude of those around me as well. I can choose to be live thankful. To thank God, throughout the day. Thessalonians 5:18 says “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” This is a game changer. Live life, everyday, thankful!
